Who we are

Trans Health South Australia is a volunteer-run community project. We are not clinicians, lawyers, or a government body, and we are not funded by or affiliated with any of the services listed here. What we do is collect information that trans and gender-diverse South Australians have found useful, and try to keep it current.

The directory is not a recommendation

Being listed in the directory means someone told us this practitioner works affirmingly with trans and gender-diverse people, and nothing more. Specifically, a listing is not:

• an endorsement, a recommendation or a referral;
• a guarantee of competence, registration, insurance or current practice;
• a statement that they are accepting new patients or clients;
• a statement about cost, waiting times or Medicare rebates;
• evidence that we have met them, or verified their qualifications.

Practitioners appear because they asked to be listed, or because community members suggested them. We do not audit clinical practice and we are not able to. You remain the person best placed to decide whether someone is right for you, and you are entitled to change your mind.

To check a practitioner's registration yourself, look them up on the AHPRA register. It is free and takes a minute.

Nothing here is medical or legal advice

The medical, legal and NDIS pages describe how things generally work in South Australia so you can walk into an appointment better informed. They are general information, not advice about your situation, and they are no substitute for talking to a doctor, a lawyer or an advocate who knows your circumstances.

Law, clinical guidelines and service eligibility all change, sometimes quickly. Check anything important against a current, official source before you rely on it.

Information goes out of date

Phone numbers change, clinics move, people retire, groups stop meeting. We maintain hundreds of entries with volunteer time, so some of what you read here will be wrong at any given moment. Confirm details directly with the service before you travel or rely on them.

If you find something out of date, tell us — that is genuinely the main way this stays useful.

Links to other sites

We link to a lot of external organisations, documents and services. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, their accessibility or their privacy practices. A link is a pointer, not a vouching.

Corrections and removals

If you are listed and want your entry corrected or taken down, email us. We will action it without asking you to justify it. The same goes for a group, resource or organisation listed anywhere else on the site.

Liability

We provide this site in good faith and free of charge, and we take real care over it. To the extent the law allows, Trans Health South Australia and its volunteers accept no liability for loss or harm arising from relying on information here or from dealings with any service listed. Nothing on this page limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
